What’s the one feeling that seems universal in western culture? To me, it seems like overwhelm. Everyone, it appears, feels overwhelmed by life in many ways. This is a tricky one, because it can really look like it’s coming from the outside: all the to-do lists, people who expect us to take care of them, demands on our time and so forth.

When we can see that, like every other feeling, it’s coming from our thinking, the results can be amazing. We can have the feeling of getting time back, of being more efficient and more relaxed.
