I recalled a phrase from my days as a university student, which is “negative capability.” This phrase was coined by John Keats to explain an artist’s willingness to go beyond the known and into the unknown, not with any presupposition as to what human beings are capable of.

This is where I’m finding myself more and more often now. My thinking is becoming a low hum and not a loud roar. And that’s allowing me to have this “negative capability” and not feel afraid.
